Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet has approved the 2023 – 2024 Corporate Safeguarding report, outlining details of the widespread safeguarding provision offered by Social Services, as well as how vulnerable adults and children continue to be supported across all directorates, offering a ‘one council’ approach to safeguarding.

Earlier this year, pupils from Newton Primary School, Porthcawl, penned their own original song and headed to London to represent Wales and perform in the finals of ‘The School Song Competition 2024’, having been shortlisted from over one thousand entries.

‘Tackle after Dark’ project celebrated at Wales Safer Communities Awards

A groundbreaking project aimed at addressing antisocial behaviour across the county borough was spotlighted at Wales Safer Communities Awards 2024 on 28 November. A collaboration between Bridgend County Borough Council Youth Support and South Wales Police (SWP), supported by Ospreys in the Community, the ‘Tackle after Dark’ scheme claimed the ‘Partnerships’ category award at the ceremony.
