Local residents invited to attend ‘cost-of-living’ advice event

Residents from around Bridgend County Borough are being invited to attend a FREE ‘cost-of-living’ event which will offer support and advice to people from all over the county borough.

The event will take place on Tuesday 17 May between 3pm and 6pm at the Richard Price Centre in Llangeinor.

There will be plenty of advice on hand which will provide local residents with a variety of different types of support such as:

  • Help with bills
  • Tips on the best energy deals
  • Suggestions about ways to save money for food
  • Advice on applying for extra benefits

This wide-ranging initiative will see a variety of key organisations working in partnership with the council’s Employability Bridgend team such as Citizens Advice, Valleys to Coast, Power Up, Bridgend Carers Centre, Pobl, Baobab Bach, allowing residents to get the exact type of support they need.

The event reiterates the council’s commitment to making sure local residents can get the help they need with the increase in cost of living.

The range of organisations attending the event shows there is a real desire to help the residents of Bridgend in all areas. This event can make a real difference to all of our local communities, and I would encourage anyone with any concerns to come and get some advice at this event.

We realise that everyone’s increase in cost of living will be different and with advice in so many areas we hope this will have a real positive impact around the whole borough of Bridgend.
