Advice available at upcoming Business Support Fair

Businesses across Bridgend County Borough are invited to attend an upcoming Business Support Fair.

The free event will be taking place on Thursday 3 November between 4pm and 6pm at the STEAM Academy, Pencoed Campus in Bridgend. Enterprises from all sectors and of any size are invited to attend, with support and guidance available to help run a business effectively.

A number of partners across Bridgend County Borough will be in attendance at the fair including Enterprise Team Bridgend Council, Employability Bridgend, Business Wales, Bridgend Business Forum, Bridgend College, Business in Focus, Cwmpas, Pop-Up Wales Welsh Government, ITEC Training Solutions Ltd, ACT Training Ltd and many more.

The free event will provide all the information and guidance you need to support and maximise your business, whether you are thinking of starting a business or would like guidance for your current business.

Professional rugby player and founder of ‘Ahead of the Game Nutrition’, Rory Pitman, is just one of many local businesses who has benefitted from a range of support after attending a previous event in July.

Rory founded his business in October 2020, while focusing on cooking classes and workshops for his mental health in the sporting environment. Rory decided to take these one-off classes and demonstrations in a different direction. The company now provides a variety of healthy and delicious prep meals and snacks to some of the finest gyms and sports teams in south Wales.

Rory was able to access a combination of support and funding from the council’s Small Business Start Up Grant Scheme, Welsh Government’s Innovation Team through a Productivity Enhancement Programme and a Business in Focus Green Goals competition, where he was awarded a cash prize for the enterprise’s commitment to decarbonisation.
