New facility planned for Flying Start provision in Nantymoel

Welsh Government funding is supporting the Flying Start childcare expansion programme across the county borough, with Nantymoel set to benefit from a new purpose-built facility to accommodate the childcare provision that already exists within the area.

Bridgend County Borough Council signs the Corporate Parenting Charter

With approval from its Corporate Parenting Cabinet Committee, the council has signed the Welsh Government’s Corporate Parenting Charter. This promises the continued support of care-experienced children and young people from across the county borough, ensuring that they have the same opportunity to fulfil their potential as their peers – a commitment which aligns with the local authority’s new Corporate Parenting Strategy, which was launched in April 2023.

Cabinet approves Annual Corporate Safeguarding Report

The Cabinet of Bridgend County Borough Council has approved the 2022-23 Annual Corporate Safeguarding Report, which includes statistics of the number of adult and children safeguarding referrals this year with comparisons to previous years, how the council has worked collaboratively with the regional safeguarding board, as well as the new models of practice that have been implemented.
