Bus passes

If your primary address is in Wales and you’re either aged 60 and over or meet the Government’s disability eligibility criteria, you can travel for free on most bus services in Wales and the borders and discounted or free travel on many rail services.

Concessionary Travel cards are issued by Transport for Wales. Applying online via their website is the quickest and easiest way for you to receive your travel card.

Apply for a 60 and Over Concessionary Travel Card

You will be required to upload one proof of date of birth, two proofs of address, a passport style colour photograph and provide your National Insurance Number.  A complete list of acceptable documents can be found on Transport for Wales website. You will be unable to complete your application if this information is not provided.

Apply for a Disabled Person's Concessionary Travel Card

You will be required to upload proof of your disability, one proof of date of birth, two proofs of address, a passport style colour photograph and provide your National Insurance Number.  A complete list of acceptable documents can be found on Transport for Wales website.  You will be unable to complete your application if this information is not provided. To apply online visit Transport for Wales Portal and follow the simple instructions.

If you’re unable to apply online, you can ask a friend, family member or someone you trust to apply on your behalf. If this assistance is unavailable, you can visit your local library, where assistance will be available to complete your application. However, we would advise that you contact your local library before attending - Find your local library. Please ensure you take the correct evidence with you, otherwise your application cannot be processed.

Apply for a Disabled Person's with Companion Travel Card

If you qualify for a Concessionary Travel Card, but cannot travel by bus without needing someone else’s help, then you may be eligible to be assessed for a Disabled Person's with Companion Concessionary Travel Card.

Lost, stolen or damaged bus pass

If your travel card has been lost, stolen or damaged, you can request a replacement by telephoning Transport for Wales on 0300 303 4240. There may be a charge for the replacement Travel Card.
