Views wanted on future of Porthcawl town centre

A drop-in session and three-week public consultation is set to ask residents and businesses in Porthcawl for their views and thoughts on how the town centre can develop, thrive and enjoy a prosperous future.

A natural haven set to be developed at Heol-y-Cyw playing field

Facilitated by Welsh Government’s Local Places for Nature funding and the partnership between the Bridgend Local Nature Partnership, Bridgend County Borough Council and Coychurch Higher Community Council, a new space for nature and the community is set to be developed at Heol-y-Cyw playing field.

Bridgend County Borough Council signs the Corporate Parenting Charter

With approval from its Corporate Parenting Cabinet Committee, the council has signed the Welsh Government’s Corporate Parenting Charter. This promises the continued support of care-experienced children and young people from across the county borough, ensuring that they have the same opportunity to fulfil their potential as their peers – a commitment which aligns with the local authority’s new Corporate Parenting Strategy, which was launched in April 2023.

Support for commercial bus services in 2024-25

Bridgend County Borough Council has confirmed that Bus Network Grant funding for 2024-25 will be sufficient to cover recently tendered commercial bus services which may otherwise not have been able to continue after 31 March.
