New lockdown confirmed for Wales

Welsh Government has confirmed that the whole of Wales is to enter a two-week ‘fire-break’ period of lockdown between Friday 23 October and Monday 9 November.

Free School Meals

Bridgend County Borough Council has welcomed news that Welsh Government is to provide £11m funding to ensure that vulnerable children can benefit from free school meals during school holidays.

Two pubs served with Improvement Notices

Two pubs served with Improvement Notices over the weekend have been given 48 hours to ensure the necessary measures are in place to help minimise the risk of exposure to coronavirus.

Pandemic restrictions to remain in place

Following a new review of local pandemic restrictions that have been imposed on 15 different areas in Wales, Welsh Government has confirmed that the restrictions are to remain in place within Bridgend County Borough for the time being.

Mixing households indoors driving virus infections

Socialising with people from outside your household, house parties and a lack of social distancing are driving transmission rates across Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
