Our grant schemes support start up business and companies already trading or investing in the county borough.
Each grant scheme has specific eligibility criteria. Applicants should refer to the particular grant scheme guidance before applying.

Business Development Grant
The Business Development Grant will support Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bridgend County Borough to diversify, decarbonise and grow which will contribute to creating a vibrant and strong local economy.

Grant Rate:
Provides 50% of eligible capital projects costs. The minimum grant is £5,000 and the maximum grant available is £25,000 (excluding VAT). So, the maximum project cost is £50,000 (excluding VAT).
Business Feasibility Grant
The Business Feasibility Grant is to support businesses to explore feasibility of longer-term options to diversify, decarbonise and grow including: -
- Preparation of plans and studies, e.g. Business Plans/Feasibility Studies
- Before purchasing a piece of machinery, the study could determine the market for increased production or new product is financially viable.
- Explore using space in retail, hospitality to introduce new service / product e.g. new hotel spa
- Cost benefit analysis to introduce Green procurement

Grant Rate:
Provides 100% of eligible revenue projects costs. The minimum grant is £5,000 and the maximum grant available is £25,000 (excluding VAT). So, the maximum project cost is £25,000 (excluding VAT).
Outputs and outcomes
There are specific outputs and outcomes which need to be delivered by UKSPF projects and these outputs and outcomes will be monitored and reported.
The Business Development Grant and Business Feasibility Grant are funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Business Start-up Fund
The Business Start-up Fund is now ClOSED.
This is a flexible grant scheme delivered through a partnership with UK Steel Enterprise and Bridgend County Borough Council.
Strategic Regeneration Grants
Our current grants support commercial property improvements that will regenerate and improve town centres (Bridgend, Porthcawl and Maesteg) and the district centres and local service centres in the valleys of the Llynfi, Garw and Ogmore.
