Planning and building control
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, the Local Planning Authority, Building Control Section and Strategic Transport Section at Bridgend County Borough Council are working slightly differently for the foreseeable future. Staff will be working from home until further notice but can still be contacted.
Please note that it may take longer than normal to respond to enquiries during this time. For now we will continue to accept new planning and building regulations applications (but only electronically through the Planning and Building Control Portals) and we will still field electronic requests for pre-application advice.
However, we will not be able to offer face-to-face meetings in person (although we are utilising virtual Skype for Business meetings and phone conferences) in order to maintain social distancing protocols.
We are also intending to go back to physically visiting sites and erecting site notices in line with Welsh Government advice dated 29/4/20 where safe to do so. These visits will be planned on a case by case basis after the necessary risk assessments have been undertaken and after discussion with the applicant.
Finally, we are actively investigating ways to run virtual Development Control Committee meetings until the general lockdown is lifted. Details of DC Committee dates will be posted online in due course.
Should you have a specific enquiry about a live case, please contact the case officer.
