Cynffig Comprehensive School receives gold award for championing the Welsh language

Cynffig Comprehensive School has claimed the lead position of being the first English-medium secondary school in the county borough to receive the much sought-after Siarter Iaith Cymraeg Campus Gold Award. This recognises the school’s outstanding efforts in following the Siarter Iaith Gymraeg Charter - a Welsh Government programme designed to promote the Welsh language and culture.

Ffaldau Primary School receives shining Estyn report

Following an Estyn inspection earlier in the year, Ffaldau Primary School in the Garw Valley has been praised by inspectors for a number of strengths, not least for its caring ethos which is pivotal to all that the school does.

White Ribbon ‘Run for Change’ strives for a better future

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Assia Domestic Abuse Service and South Wales Police have collaborated to host a 5k family fun run, titled ‘Run for Change: End the Violence’, with the support of Raw Performance Fitness Centre. The event is planned for 30 November, at Newbridge Fields, Bridgend, in a bid to raise awareness of White Ribbon and funds to support Assia.
