Potential traffic delays around Bridgend town centre

Tuesday 6 May 2025

Motorists are advised to expect delays around Bridgend town centre on the morning of Tuesday 6 May, due to an abnormal load movement from Cheapside to Junction 36 of the M4.

  • Route: Cheapside → Nolton Street → Cross Valley Link Road → M4 Junction 36
  • Time: Convoy starts at 9.30am, with delays expected until 10am
  • Impact: Potential tailbacks on all routes into / out of the town centre

The heavy load will be travelling in the wrong direction through Nolton Street and as a result the road will need to be closed for approx 15 minutes.

South Wales Police will escort the convoy, and every effort will be made to keep delays to a minimum.

If possible, it’s advised to avoid driving to the town centre between 9.30am and 10am and to allow extra time for any planned journeys.
