Information and advice for recycling and waste collections during bank holidays, including:

Recycling and waste collections
Residents can put out an extra waste bag for their first refuse collection after Boxing Day.
There are some changes to collections this festive period:
- Collections will take place as normal on Wednesday 24 December (Christmas Eve)
- There will be no collections on Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day) and Friday 26 December (Boxing Day). Collections will take place two days later than usual.
- Collections will take place as normal on Wednesday 31 December (New Years Eve).
- Collections due to take place Thursday 1 January (New Years Day) and Friday 2 January will be collected one day later than usual.

Please note: Plan B will have additional recycling vehicles out for collections, including extra vehicles to collect cardboard. These extra vehicles may look similar to refuse vehicles, but don’t worry, the materials will still be recycled.
If some of your recycling is missed, please leave out for collection and it will be collected later.
Real Christmas tree recycling
Monday 05 January – Friday 30 January 2026
You can recycle your real Christmas trees at Waterton depot from Monday 5 January 2026.
The drop-off point will be located to the right-hand side of the entrance, you can drop them off Monday to Friday between 8am – 4pm.
Recycling centres
Our recycling centres in Brynmenyn, Maesteg and Pyle will be closed on the following days:
- Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day) - Closed
- Friday 26 December (Boxing Day) - Closed
- Thursday 01 January 2026 (New Years Day) - Closed

Reuse Shops
The reuse shops in Pyle and Maesteg recycling centres will be closed from Saturday 20 December 2025 to Friday 2 January 2026, inclusive.
