Caerau Heat Scheme

In order to share the learning from this scheme, BCBC commissioned a project to create this toolkit intended to communicate the lessons learned from this project to assist future projects to promote and develop heating projects that utilise the heat source present in old mine workings.

Energy Efficiency for Homes

Bridgend County Borough Council supports Welsh Governments aim to tackle fuel poverty and poor energy efficiency in homes. FREE (1) home energy efficiency upgrades are available to eligible households through the ECO4 scheme.

Low Carbon Communities

Low Carbon Communities is an initiative launched by Bridgend County Borough Council to empower local communities to produce and share renewable electricity amongst participating households whilst helping to fight the climate crisis.

Net Zero Carbon Strategy

We have committed to the Net Zero 2030 target as an organisation and recognise the leadership role to enable wider Net Zero for businesses and communities.

We declared our own climate emergency in June 2020 and set up its Climate Emergency Response programme.

The Bridgend 2030 Net Zero Carbon Strategy is the initial strategic step in achieving this commitment.

Electric Vehicle Charging Points

There are publicly accessible off-street electric vehicle (EV) charging points in Bridgend County Borough.

There are both ground-mounted units and wall-mounted units at various sites, and at most sites the option for slow charging or fast charging.

The charge-points are operated by Clenergy-ev. To use them you will need to register via the Clenergy-ev app.
