Afon y Felin Flying Start

Afon y Felin Flying Start is based on the school grounds and operates from a purpose-built demountable building designed to support young children’s learning and development.

The setting benefits from direct access to outdoor spaces, allowing children to enjoy fresh air, active play and nature-based experiences as part of their daily routine.

The environment offers a calm, welcoming space where children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

"You've all been so supportive and the job you do is absolutely amazing. My child’s learning and speech is amazing thanks to learning with you all."

At our Flying Start settings, we provide funded part time childcare for children aged 2-3 years old who are eligible.

They’re able to access high quality provision to support learning and development through child led play, in safe, secure and welcoming environment.

Funded by Welsh Government to offer 12.5 hours of funded childcare Monday - Friday term time only.

Action for Children

Our playgroup is proud to be part of Action for Children and be commissioned by the local authority to provide our playgroup service.

Being part of a national charity means we are in a unique position to help and support the children and families of our playgroup community in addition to the childcare offer.
