Thursday 30 July 2026
Bridgend County Borough Council is celebrating the dedication and professionalism of its adult social care workforce after all four of its residential care homes received positive inspection outcomes from Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).
The latest inspections highlight the consistently high standards of care being delivered across the council's residential services, with ’Good’ ratings achieved across all inspection domains at Ty Ynysawdre, Ty Cwm Ogwr and Ty Llwynderw. Bryn y Cae received an ‘Excellent’ rating for Wellbeing—the highest possible rating—alongside ‘Good’ ratings for Care and Support, Leadership and Management, and Environment.
These outcomes reflect the commitment, compassion and professionalism of the teams who support residents every day, helping people to live with dignity, independence and confidence while providing reassurance and support to their families.
The inspections recognised the quality of care being provided and the person-centred approach taken by staff, with a strong focus on promoting wellbeing, respecting individual choice and delivering safe, high-quality care in welcoming environments.
The achievements also reflect the council's continued investment in innovative approaches to care, including assistive technology, digital solutions and partnership working to ensure services continue to evolve and meet people's changing needs.
Every member of the workforce—from care assistants, support workers and activity coordinators to managers, catering, domestic and maintenance staff—plays an essential role in creating positive outcomes for residents and their loved ones.
"These inspection results are something everyone involved in our residential care services should be incredibly proud of. Achieving ‘’Good’ ratings across all four of our care homes, alongside an ‘Excellent’ rating for Wellbeing at Bryn y Cae, reflects the exceptional commitment and compassion our staff demonstrate every single day. Behind every inspection outcome are dedicated people who go above and beyond to ensure residents receive the highest standards of care, support and respect. They build trusting relationships, create opportunities for people to stay active and connected, and help residents to live fulfilling lives with dignity and independence. I would like to thank every member of our adult social care workforce for their professionalism, kindness and unwavering commitment. Their work makes a real difference, not only to the lives of residents but also to their families and the wider community. These inspection results are thoroughly deserved recognition of the outstanding care they provide."
Bridgend County Borough Council remains committed to supporting and investing in its adult social care workforce, ensuring residents continue to receive high-quality, compassionate care both now and in the future.
The council extends its sincere thanks to every member of staff for the difference they make each day. Their dedication continues to place the wellbeing of residents in the county borough at the heart of everything they do.
