Nominations open for Mayor's Citizenship Awards 2024

Nominations are now open for Bridgend County Borough Council’s Mayor’s Citizenship Awards 2024.

The awards are an annual opportunity to celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to life in Bridgend County Borough.

Previous winners include the organiser of a baby loss support group, a resident who volunteered his electrical services free of charge to install a countless number of defibrillators throughout the county borough and a church warden who regularly collects shopping and prescriptions for many elderly residents.

Nominees must live or work locally and have shown the kind of values that make Bridgend great. They might have:

  • raised an outstanding amount for charity
  • performed an act of great bravery
  • regularly gone the extra mile for others
  • put the local area on the map
  • achieved something really special over the past 18 months

Bridgend County Borough is home to many inspirational people, incredible groups and extraordinary organisations that make it a special place to live, work, study and visit.

We want to shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes and dedicated organisations that make a selfless contribution to the lives of others.

I strongly encourage people to put forward nominations for individuals, groups and organisations that go above and beyond to serve their local communities, so that they can get the recognition that they deserve.

The Mayor of Bridgend County Borough, Cllr William Kendall
