Maesteg business has successful stay in Maesteg Market pop-up unit

Friday 11 July 2025

A Maesteg business has had a successful stay in the pop-up initiative in Maesteg Market, courtesy of the council’s Economic Development and Enterprise team.

Entwined Crafts by Pip, from Llangynwyd, has resided within Unit 14 for the past three weeks creating bespoke bags, cushions, bunting and other accessories from recycled fabrics, such as denim from old jeans and end-of-line fabrics from top manufacturers. Each item is adorned with ribbons and accessories, ensuring every piece is unique and affordable for daily use.

We have really enjoyed our time at the pop-up shop and are so grateful for the opportunity Bridgend Council has given us. We have met such lovely people who have expressed so much interest in our handmade items; thank you Maesteg and wider communities for supporting us on our journey towards having a future business within the locality.
“I’m so pleased that Phillipa has seen such success with the pop-up unit in Maesteg, especially since she is a local Maesteg business. All of the businesses featured in the space so far have been wonderful and it’s been incredible seeing so many creatives take over the Unit. I would definitely recommend any businesses who are looking for a new opportunity to express interest in hosting within the pop-up unit.”

The next occupant in the pop-up unit will be Kakes by Kate, a Bridgend-based baker who specialises in making brownies and blondies.

The Economic Development and Enterprise team are still looking for businesses who would be interested in a stay within the unit; businesses can complete this Expression of Interest form.

To keep an eye on upcoming traders and see the full list of past traders, you can visit the pop-up’s official page on our website.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
