A Bridgend based training partner has recently expanded their business with support from Bridgend County Borough Council’s Economic Development and Enterprise Team.
Bowtec UK, based in Pyle, were founded in 2022 to provide high-quality accredited training to businesses and their employees stay safe during work. They are an approved nuclear training provider with multiple accreditations and have partnered with several organisations across the UK, including Hinkley Point C, Europe’s largest construction project.
The company were awarded a £4,000 Start-Up Grant to support the purchase of a new training rig, which allowed for the training company to increase their training capability and also supported job creation, with 3 new employees joining the team.
Councillor Huw David, Mayor of Bridgend County Borough and Councillor Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing recently visited the team at their training centre in Pyle Industrial Estate.
“Having this grant has given our business such a massive boost; we’ve been able to purchase a bespoke rig for rigging and lifting, which has been specially designed to ensure that our learners can get hands-on experience. We’ve had such huge support from Bridgend Council and it was such an honour to welcome the Mayor and Councillor Farr to our training centre. A huge thank you to Bridgend Council for their ongoing support in helping us grow, create opportunities, and invest in the local community. We’re proud to be flying the flag for Bridgend in the energy and training sector.”
“It was a lovely experience getting to meet the team at Bowtec and seeing the benefits the start-up grant has been able to bring them. The bespoke rig was a highly impressive machine and will be such a useful addition to their training. As a council, we are proud to offer a range of support for people who are starting businesses or businesses who want to grow their presence and Bowtec are a perfect example of this.”
