Learners across Bridgend County Borough celebrate GCSE results day
Friday 22 August 2025
Pupils across Bridgend County Borough are celebrating GCSE results day today (Thursday 21 August 2025) and a range of support is available for all learners.
Lots of pupils have achieved fantastic grades in schools throughout the county borough, with many choosing to continue their education in sixth form or college, while others have chosen to begin an apprenticeship or delve into the world of employment instead.
More than 300,000 learners received their results across Wales, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.
“We are absolutely delighted with our learners’ achievements this year. Their results reflect their hard work, resilience, and the unwavering support from staff and families. “We would like to thank our parents and carers who have worked alongside us during the past five years. This partnership working is crucial to the day-to-day work that we do, and this is evident on days like this. Also thank you once again to our staff. It was great to see so many staff in the atrium today. These relationships are crucial to everything that we do at CCYD, and the emotional support shown today was wonderful to observe.”
“Our pupils have made Maesteg School community proud. The atmosphere in school today was one of celebration - justifiably so. “Completing GCSEs successfully, requires real commitment and hard work over two years, not just in the final exams, and these pupils worked hard from the outset so determined were they to do well. Their resilience will serve them well for whatever lies ahead.”
“Congratulations to everyone who has taken their GCSEs this year and I recognise the hard work and effort that has gone into achieving your results. “Taking exams can be a difficult time but I’d like to also thank teaching staff and families who have supported our learners on their journeys to this point. “There are plenty of different routes available for our learners and I encourage everyone to consider their options and seek advice where required.”
