Funding empowers local renewable energy innovation

Thursday 11 December 2025

Bridgend-based, renewable energy developer, Infinite Renewables Ltd has successfully leveraged funding from Bridgend County Borough Council and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to accelerate its green technology development, securing critical funding that will drive local economic growth and sustainable innovation.

Through support under the Business Development Grant, the business has made significant strides in developing mobile renewable energy solutions. The funding has enabled Infinite Renewables to purchase a BestWatt 15kW Mobile Wind Turbine and additional critical infrastructure, including solar panels, battery systems, and a commercial trailer.  This support has been transformative for Infinite Renewables, allowing the company to develop prototype systems and create one new full-time and one part-time position.

"This grant has been instrumental in reducing our commercial risk, enabling us to create and market cutting-edge renewable energy solutions for specialist markets. The mobile wind turbine, designed for off-grid electricity generation, represents a breakthrough in providing green energy for large events and remote business activities. By connecting the turbine to an advanced battery system, Infinite Renewables is pioneering flexible, sustainable power solutions. Without this funding, developing a full commercial demonstrator would have been prohibitively risky. We are incredibly grateful for the support from Bridgend County Borough Council."
"This investment demonstrates our commitment to supporting local businesses that are driving sustainable technological advancement. Infinite Renewables exemplifies the innovative spirit we aim to nurture through the Shared Prosperity Fund."
"It was a pleasure to meet the team at Infinite Renewables and see how the council’s funding has helped them to develop their business. The work they do in leading green energy is really exciting and I am so pleased that we have been able to help them in their green energy journey.”

The business support grants are funded through the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund offering a dedicated approach to supporting local entrepreneurship and economic growth.
