Coychurch Crematorium has donated £10,000 to Tenovus Cancer Care as part of a national scheme that raises funds for a wide range of good causes across the United Kingdom.

Since joining the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management scheme (ICCM) in 2005, the Crematorium has supported a number of local bereavement and community charities through its share of the funds raised.

The latest recipient, Tenovus Cancer Care, was chosen by the Coychurch Crematorium Joint Committee, which includes councillors from Bridgend County Borough Council, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

The Welsh based charity is dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families as well as funding vital research and promoting cancer prevention and awareness.

A spokesperson for Tenovus Cancer Care said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Coychurch Crematorium’s Joint Committee for this extremely generous donation. It will make a real difference in helping us support cancer patients and their loved ones across local communities.”

“We are proud to support Tenovus Cancer Care, a charity that provides invaluable help to people affected by cancer across Wales. The ICCM scheme allows us to give back to the community in a meaningful way and it’s fantastic that the proceeds will make such a positive difference to the lives of local people.”
“We are extremely proud of the sensitive and compassionate role Coychurch Crematorium plays in supporting local communities right across the region at what can be the toughest of times. A big thank you to all the staff for their longstanding dedicated work.”
