Council supports recruitment of traffic marshals for AIG Women's Open
Friday 11 July 2025
The Employability Bridgend team and the Council’s Economic Enterprise & Development team came together this week to help recruit traffic marshals for the upcoming AIG Women’s Open, taking place in Porthcawl at the end of this month.
People from across the county borough came to BCBC’s Môr Porthcawl, the modular start-up units in Hillsboro Place Car Park to register as traffic marshals for the event, with support from BCBC being offered to participants, with Employability Bridgend providing the guidance, and the Economic Development & Enterprise Team co-ordinating the day and securing units for the registrations to take place.
The traffic marshals will support the event to run smoothly as it takes place at the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, from Wednesday 30 July to Sunday 3 August. The prestigious event will feature golfers from around the world competing to become the AIG Women’s Open Champion.

I'm very pleased that the council’s Economic Enterprise & Development Team and Employability Bridgend could lend their support with the recruitment of Traffic Marshals for the upcoming AIG Women's Open. It is a major event on the tournament calendar, and I'm proud that colleagues from BCBC have stepped in to support and promote the residents seeking temporary employment. I wish everyone involved with the event every success and hope for the summer weather to remain for the tournament!
Correta Kairu from CSP, the company managing the parking for the event expressed her gratitude: “I am very grateful to Bridgend County Borough Council who have supported us enormously yet again, just as they did back in 2023 during the Senior Open. We aim to ensure that local people take priority for our temporary work during our events around the UK and we were fortunate to meet such lovely people yesterday and look forward to working with them shortly!”
