Community invited to engagement event for Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Ogwr school modernisation plans
Thursday 02 July 2026
Parents, carers and members of the local community are invited to attend a public engagement event to find out more about proposals for a replacement Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Ogwr as part of Bridgend County Borough Council's school modernisation programme.
The engagement session will take place ahead of the statutory pre-planning application consultation process. The proposed development includes a new Welsh-medium primary school, sports pitches, floodlighting, parking, drainage, landscaping and associated engineering works on land north of the Princess Way roundabout in Brackla.
The event will provide an opportunity to view the proposals, speak directly with members of the project team and ask any questions before the formal planning consultation begins.
The details are:
• Tuesday 7 July 2026
• Time: 3.30pm to 6.30pm
• Venue: Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Ogwr School Hall, Princess Way, Brackla, CF31 2LN
"The Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Ogwr school modernisation project represents an important investment in Welsh-medium education and in the future of our young people across the county borough. "We want to ensure that parents, carers and the wider community have the opportunity to learn more about the proposals, ask questions and provide feedback before the statutory planning consultation begins. “I would encourage anyone with an interest in the project to come along to the engagement event and speak to the team."
Anyone who is unable to attend the event but would still like to comment on the proposals can submit representations to Asbri Planning Ltd by emailing mail@asbriplanning.co.uk or writing to:
