Christmas recruitment campaign underway to promote social care job opportunities

The council’s ‘12 Days of Christmas Care’ campaign is underway to highlight the variety of social care opportunities available within the council.

For staff working in social care, their roles are critical to the wellbeing of residents, but no more so, than at this time of year.

Emphasising the need for social care staff to provide physical, emotional, and social support to help people live their lives, the campaign focuses on how this is particularly important during the winter and festive periods.

The campaign features Dafydd, who will be helping George with his Christmas food prep, ensuring he has all he needs for a tasty Christmas and to make sure he treats himself and any visitors he may have. Our support at home staff assist people in the comfort of their own homes, so that they’re able to live as independently as possible.

Also highlighted is Jordan who has helped Ivy to put up her Christmas tree and decorations. Ivy can’t leave her home easily and the domiciliary care team provide homecare services that support the rights of people to live their lives as comfortably as possible, in their own homes.

Our social care staff play a vital role across all of our local communities and their support is key to enabling people to live fulfilled, happy, and independent lives.

There are a range of social care vacancies currently available at Bridgend County Borough Council, and anyone interested can apply. You don’t always need to have qualifications and with the full support and training opportunities that we offer as an organisation, social care really is a job for life.
