Active Travel improvements: Community engagement and information drop-in session

Tuesday 02 September 2025

Residents are invited to an engagement session to discuss a proposed Active Travel route in the Ewenny Road area of Bridgend town.

In a phased approach, the proposed route features a shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists from the railway bridge at Heronston Lane, to the Ewenny Road roundabout and then down towards Brynteg School’s entrance on Ewenny Road.

There will be opportunities to review drawings and plans, ask questions, and provide feedback. Council officers will be present along with local councillors.

•    Date: 25 September 2025
•    Time: Drop in anytime between 4:30pm - 7pm
•    Location: Brynteg Comprehensive School, Ewenny Road, Bridgend, CF31 3LE. The session will be in the Lower School library, so please park in the lower school through the Heol Gam entrance.

Active Travel means walking or cycling for everyday short-distance journeys. It covers trips to school, shops, work, services and transport hubs. It can also include the use of electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters. It does not include journeys purely for recreation, or social reasons.

More information about Active Travel is available on our Active Travel webpage.
