Our grant schemes support start up business and companies already trading or investing in the county borough.
Each grant scheme has specific eligibility criteria. Applicants should refer to the particular grant scheme guidance before applying.

Business Start-up Fund - Open
This is a flexible grant scheme delivered through a partnership with UK Steel Enterprise and Bridgend County Borough Council. It provides financial assistance to new or existing micro-businesses that are located, or are planning to locate, in Bridgend County Borough.

Business Development Grant
The Business Development Grant will support Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bridgend County Borough to diversify, decarbonise and grow which will contribute to creating a vibrant and strong local economy.

Whole county borough
Grant Rate:
Provides 50% of eligible capital projects costs. The minimum grant is £5,000 and the maximum grant available is £25,000 (excluding VAT). So, the maximum project cost is £50,000 (excluding VAT).
Tourism Business Capital Grant
The Tourism Business Capital Grant will support tourism and hospitality businesses in Bridgend County Borough to increase capital investment to support productivity, growth and job creation.

Grant Rate:
Provides 50% of eligible capital projects costs. The minimum grant is £2,500 and the maximum grant available is £10,000 (excluding VAT). So, the maximum project cost is £20,000 (excluding VAT).
All applications to the Business Development and Tourism Business Capital grants Grant need to align to the following intervention:
Priority 1: More Productive and Competitive Businesses.
Objective 2: Increasing capital investment in high growth potential businesses to support productivity growth.
The Business Development and Tourism Business Capital grants are funded by UK Government, through Welsh Government, and will support businesses in Bridgend County Borough to increase capital investment to support productivity, growth and job creation.
Strategic Regeneration Grants
Our current grants support commercial property improvements that will regenerate and improve town centres (Bridgend, Porthcawl and Maesteg) and the district centres and local service centres in the valleys of the Llynfi, Garw and Ogmore.
