We work with employers to create sessions that will help boost your chances of getting the job you want. Improve at completing applications, or gain great customer service and communication skills. What’s more, we offer pre-employment courses in sectors like:

  • cleaning
  • retail
  • care
  • school catering

Free courses for Communities 1st postcodes

The below are two courses available in areas where Communities 1st operated. They are accredited, and learners will get certificates for successfully completed modules. To enrol or check if you are in a Communities 1st area, contact us via the details at the bottom of the page.

Although Communities 1st has finished, some projects continue where it operated.

Aim Higher: My Future

This course is for anyone who has been away from the job market for a while, or not yet entered it. The program helps learners gain a range of skills in communication, resilience and confidence building. Also, it looks at how resilience affects health and wellbeing. The course sees learners plan realistic future career paths and how to get there, while identifying steps and necessary training.

Crafting for All Seasons

This course is for people:

  • furthest from employment
  • with low self-confidence and self-esteem
  • with some work limiting health conditions

It lasts 10 weeks, and will explore a range of crafts. The aim is to make items to give as presents or even to sell, which could create an income from a cottage industry. The course increases learners’ confidence. Also, it fosters a range of skills like improved maths and English.
