Social Work Jobs

Social Workers help to protect vulnerable children and adults from harm or abuse, and support people to live independently.

Our qualified social workers, social work assistants, senior practitioners and team managers work in a variety of front-line teams in Bridgend County Borough Council, including children’s safeguarding, mental health, learning, physical disabilities.

"For someone who left school with minimal qualifications and believing I'd never have the opportunity to complete a degree, i'm extremely grateful for the opportunities the authority has given me." - Leon, Social Worker

Adult Social Work

Adult social workers provide support and advice to individuals and their families, working together to find solutions to their problems. Whether you are working with the elderly, adults with physical or learning disabilities or those suffering from mental health or substance abuse issues, you will become an advocate for those who are most vulnerable and protecting them from harm or abuse.

Children's Social Work

Children’s social workers provide help and support to families. By working together with family and other agencies, they help to build relationships that deliver long-term stability and safety to children, intervening in moments of crisis to manage risk, and protect those who are vulnerable from harm and abuse. The positive impacts of your work extend far beyond your day-to-day role. Helping to keep a child safe means you are giving them a better chance of a happy, healthy, and thriving future.
