Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

All local authorities in Wales are legally required to complete a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA) as a statutory duty of the Childcare Act 2006. The assessment supports Bridgend County Borough Council to better understand parents/carers’ use of childcare, the overall supply of childcare in the county and any additional factors that may impact on the demand of childcare over the next five years.

As well as establishing a baseline of provision, the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment will enable local authorities to measure the nature and extent of the need for, and supply of, childcare in the county borough; identify gaps in the market, and plan how to support the market to address them.

These identified gaps can be found in the Gaps Analysis document and the plan to support them in the Action Plan.  We would like your thoughts on both.
