A brief history of Maesteg market

Maesteg town hall opens. The market is sited in the basement, and it stays at that location for 137 years. Eventually, the hall becomes a grade II listed building.

A new open air market opens. The stone, Victorian building’s need for extensive repairs drives this change, and the town hall is turned into a cultural centre.
