European Structural Funds 2014 to 2020

European Structural Funds 2014 to 2020’ is the EU’s current funding programme. Businesses, places of higher or further education, or third or public sector bodies can use the funds to run public projects. It can be used on programs which support:

  • employment
  • youth employment
  • training
  • research and innovation
  • SME business competitiveness
  • renewable energy and energy efficiency
  • connectivity and urban development

Treasury guarantee of EU funded projects

Following the vote to leave, EU funded projects continue in the UK. Should no exit deal be reached, the Treasury guarantees full financial support for all UK projects with EU funding which were approved before December 2020. Such projects may run until 2023.
