Special Regeneration Fund

The Special Regeneration Fund provides small and medium sized businesses with a “customer-led” approach to funding opportunities. It is available to new start-ups and existing businesses that are located, or are planning to locate, in Bridgend County Borough. Businesses will need to demonstrate that a significant proportion of their activity is ‘business-to-business’. Funding will not be available to the retail sector and services operating in a purely local market. However, other sectors can be considered such as tourism.

What the fund covers

The funding offers up to 40% of grant support for approved project costs up to a maximum of £5,000. The minimum grant amount will be £1,000. Projects considered under the scheme could include:

  • investment in capital equipment
  • specialist software
  • website design
  • refurbishment of industrial premises

How to apply

Once an expression of interest form has been approved, applications for funding will be assessed against a set of criteria.

All businesses will be required to submit an application form and a business plan. New businesses will also need to provide at least 12 months cash flow and profit and loss forecasts. Existing companies will need to provide at least two years’ historic certified accounts. Alternatively, they can submit up-to-date management accounts if certified accounts are over six months old.

The grant cannot be awarded retrospectively, so do not incur costs before the grant is awarded.
