Bridgend County Borough Council, as billing authority, received notice from CF31 Business Improvement District Ltd requesting Bridgend County Borough Council to hold a BID Alteration Ballot under the Business Improvement Districts (Wales) Regulations 2005 and the Local Government Act 2003.

Upon receipt of a request to hold the BID Alteration Ballot from the billing authority, the Ballot Holder, being the Returning Officer for Bridgend County Borough Council, instructed UK Engage to undertake the BID Alteration Ballot on their behalf. The BID Alteration Ballot was run as an entirely postal ballot.

The result for the BID Alteration Ballot was declared on Friday 20 September 2019. The number of votes cast in the ballot was 81 with a combined rateable value of 3,280,700.

The alteration proposals for the Business Improvement District for the Bridgend Town Centre are not approved. The majority of votes from eligible business ratepayers in the proposed BID area were not in favour of the proposal, there was however a majority in terms of aggregate rateable value.
