Come and share the magic!
Bridgend County Borough is a magical area of outstanding natural beauty and diversity right at the heart of Southern Wales.
It is situated just 19 miles (30km) from Wales' Capital City of Cardiff, 20 miles (32km) from the Maritime City of Swansea, and just 26 miles (41km) from the Brecon Beacons National Park.
There is easy access with three exit points (35/36/37) off the M4 motorway (European Expressway to/from Ireland) and frequent rail connections from London Paddington Station and other stations throughout Britain. Also available are good coach connections from all parts of the United Kingdom.
There are 28 miles (44.8kms) of 'Glamorgan Heritage Coast' with the most westerly 8 Miles (12km) forming Southern Wales's 'Golden Coast', a surfer's paradise, with golden sandy beaches two of which have been awarded European Blue Flags.
Porthcawl, right at the heart of the 'Golden Coast' is an ideal water sports centre, with its own Surf Academy and Scuba Diving School backed by acres of breathtaking mountain scenery and country parks just waiting to be discovered.
As you would expect in Wales, there are ancient castles, fascinating towns, picture-postcard villages and ancient heritage along with festivals and events throughout the year. This makes it the ideal holiday destination with something new and exciting to do every day.
The area's attractions and accommodation facilities are detailed in the full colour brochure "The Glamorgan Heritage Coast & Countryside" produced in conjunction with the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
