South Wales Equestrian Centre
The South Wales Equestrian Centre is situated just off the M4 Motorway in an idyllic location overlooking beautiful countryside. Just behind the Centre is mile upon mile of open mountain over which you can ride after learning the basics in the safety of the large indoor arena.
Group adult beginner lessons are the speciality of the Centre. The Centre is also pleased to accommodate young riders of four and over who can start in the lead rein classes, learning the correct position in the saddle and basic turning and stopping aids. From there they progress to our “Level 1” class where they experience their first thrill of freedom.
The Centre specialised lessons in Dressage, Show Jumping and training over a new cross-country course. Each month a client’s competition evening is held in which even the most novice of riders can take part and compete against riders of their own level.
The Centre is host to some disabled riders, who thoroughly enjoy their riding under Riding for the Disabled Association instruction.
The Centre is also able to offer instruction leading to British Horse Society Stage I, II and Preliminary Teaching Test examinations, which are held at the Centre.
The South Wales Equestrian Centre is not just for the serious competitor. It is somewhere where you can have fun and learn, or improve your riding skills with a dedicated staff who want to share their knowledge and love of horses.
For those who are accompanying riders or have just come to watch there is a warm and comfortable bar/cafeteria with windows overlooking the indoor arena and a balcony looking out over the outdoor manege.
How to find the centre.
From M4 Motorway exit at Junction 35, take A473 signposted to Pencoed and Llantrisant. Straight across the first roundabout and on to the second roundabout and take the second exit. Continue to the third roundabout and take the first exit signposted Heol-y-Cyw. Follow the road across the Common to the village of Heol-y-Cyw. Go straight through the village, up the hill out of the village following the road to the right. Continue along the lane to the first “T” junction. The South Wales Equestrian Centre is straight in front of you.
