Walking

Whether you want to walk in a serious manner or just stroll through breathtaking coastal or countryside scenery, then Bridgend County Borough is the place for you!
There are walker's routes all around the county, with leaflets showing the starting and ending points of each. Some can be combined to create longer walks.
Some are on the flat, like the Bridgend Circular Route or the Newton to Ogmore route, while others are more strenuous like the Ogwr Ridgeway Walk taking in the higher levels, but be prepared as this walk is very isolated. A mobile phone would be an advantage on this route as well as leaving details with someone.
There are also local, self-guiding walks around the town areas, like the Bridgend Heritage Walk, taking in the historical old centre of the town, near the Castle.
Leaflets for all the walks can be obtained from one of the Heritage Coast Tourist Information Centres.
