What is the Role of the Licensing Committee?
|
|
- To determine from time to time any standard conditions applicable to and detailed policies governing the issue of licences, permits and consents in respect of which the Licensing Panel has delegated power to hear and determine applications and to deal with all detailed matters relating thereto;
- To prescribe guidelines, conditions, limitations or restrictions governing the grant of applications for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Drivers’ Licences by Council officers under the power delegated to them;
- To determine fees charged in respect of those licensing functions within the purview of the Licensing Committee (as listed in paragraph 1 of the terms of reference of the Licensing Panel) and to hear and determine objections in relation to proposed fee revisions;
- To determine revisions of Hackney Carriage fares and to hear and determine objections to proposed revisions;
- To resolve to designate any street within the County Borough under the street trading provisions contained in Schedule 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 and to deal with any matter arising therefrom, including licence and consent issues.
