Competitive salary

We offer a competitive salary, which is based on an incremental pay scale and an annual cost of living award.

Holidays

In addition to 8 bank holidays, we offer a holiday entitlement starting at 24 days per year, rising to a maximum of 29 days after five years continuous local government service. Annual leave for part time employees is calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Pension Scheme

We offer a final salary pension scheme that provides guaranteed benefits, which all employees are eligible to join. We pay into your pension as well as you.

Leisure Facilities

The Bridgecard scheme offers discounted access to Leisure Centres across the County Borough.

Relocation packages

Where appropriate we can provide financial assistance to newly appointed employees in meeting the cost of relocation expenses incurred as a result of their appointment.

WE ARE AGE POSITIVE

Bridgend County Borough Council is the first local authority in Wales to be awarded Champion status by Age Positive, a government campaign to tackle age discrimination in the workplace.

The council were presented with this prestigious award because of its commitment towards equal opportunities and changing negative, stereotypical attitudes towards younger and older workers.

To become an Age Positive Champion, organisations must be committed to tackling age discrimination in the workplace and to have demonstrated that they are taking practical steps to change their employment practices or support overcoming discrimination, either through research, campaigning or working in partnership with the the Department for Work and Pensions' Age Positive campaign team.
