Arrangements for pre application planning advice
The Authority has decided to introduce revised arrangements for providing pre application planning advice from 1 April 2011.
For most enquiries that advice will continue to be free but for what the government define as major or minor applications a fee will be required. The advantages of these arrangements are as follows:-
- The maintenance of a pre application advice service and an intention to provide an improved pre application advice service to serious developers which in turn leads to improved planning applications and better quality development in the County Borough.
- The elimination of many serial/time wasting enquiries, creating more time for officers to undertake more productive elements of their work for the community.
- Additional revenue stream to the Authority to help safeguard the service provided.
