Lyme disease
Lyme disease is a serious disease carried by infected ticks.
A tick (Ixodoidea) is an insect which lives on blood meals. These are most commonly taken from animals such as deer, sheep and dogs. However they can and will feed on humans also.
The seasons which they are most active are spring and summer time.
