Highways Development

The Highways Development Section of Bridgend County Borough Council is responsible for ensuring that all new housing developments have roads, footways and cycleways built to the latest safety and construction standards.
The team work closely with the planning department and advise developers on the standards and road layouts that must be implemented to ensure that the highway can be adopted and maintained by the Highway Authority in the future.
Once Planning permission has been granted for a development you will need to contact the Highways development section for advice on how to ensure any Planning Conditions relating to Highway matters are to be implemented. Also the team can advise you on the steps you will need to take to undertake works on the existing public highway.
Information is also held on the current adoption status of highways throughout Bridgend County Borough Council.
If you want to speak to someone from the Highways Development team regarding current progress on a development, the status of a highway or carrying out a development, please contact (01656) 642541 and ask for Highways Development.
