Bridgend County Borough Council Partners

Arts and Culture Department

Aims to increase the number and range of people experiencing the arts through access and participation and to further opportunities across a wide range of art forms which will enrich, educate and provide enjoyment.

Bridgend Adult Community Learning

Bridgend Adult Community Learning offers a wide range of course-based activities providing learning opportunities in many areas.

Bridgend Environmental Education & Sustainability (BEES)

This local Partnership is made up of a variety of organisations and Bridgend County Borough Council Officers. The Partnership is co-ordinated by Bridgend County Borough Council and is committed to supporting Education for Sustainable Development & Global Citizenship (ESDGC) within schools, colleges, youth groups and life-long learning facilities in the County Borough of Bridgend

Children's Information Service / Family Information Service

Bridgend Family Information Service provides quality, accessible and impartial information and guidance on the full range of childcare services, resources and issues led by the needs of children and their families, carers, employers, professionals and local and national governments and their agencies

Children and Young People's Partnership

The Bridgend Children and Young People's Partnership is a Welsh Assembly Government initiative that provides a context for planning and delivering services for children and young people from 0 - 19 years, together with care leavers up to 21 (or above if in continuing education or training) and those receiving youth support services (within the meaning of Section 123 of the Learning and Skills Act 2000) up to the age of 25.

Communities First

Communities First is a Welsh Assembly Government flagship programme to improve the living conditions and prospects of people in the most disadvantaged communities across Wales

Community Safety Partnership

The Bridgend Community Safety Partnership involves various agencies from the public, private and voluntary sector working together to reduce crime, disorder and fear of crime locally, in order to improve the quality of life and to create a safer living and working environment.

Library and Information service

Bridgend Library and Information Service provides public book lending and information services to the 128,000 residents of Bridgend County Borough. The service is provided through: 13 branch libraries, a mobile library, Cyberlink and a central Reference and Information Centre.

Sports Development

The main aim of the Sports Development Unit is to increase opportunities for the residents of Bridgend County Borough to take part in sport.

Youth Service

Provides a range of activities for young people aged between 11-25 years in a variety of settings

Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations

BAVO is the County Voluntary Council and provides FREE support, guidance training and advice to voluntary and community groups.

Bridgend College

Bridgend College offers a wide range of programmes in all curriculum / vocational areas for entry level through to post graduate.

Bridgend Local Health Board

Co-ordinates the Healthy Schools Scheme, develops partnership working, disseminates information and promotes links with schools.

Business in the Community

BIC works in partnership with over 700 companies to advance and support social and economic regeneration initiatives.

Clybiau Plant Cymru

Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs helps set up, develop and support out of school childcare clubs, which operate either side of the school day and during holidays for children and young people aged between 3 - 14 years

Community Service Volunteers (CSV)

Creates quality opportunities for people to volunteer and to access training and lifelong learning

ContinYou

ContinYou aims to open up opportunities for learning that will help people to change their lives, improving the well-being of  individuals, families and communities

Creation Development Trust

Creation manages Blaengarw Workmen's Hall as an arts and community venue for the benefit of the local community on behalf of Bridgend County Borough Council. By working flexibly and being accessible, CDT plays an important role in supporting and assisting local communities in their revitalisation to become prosperous, healthy and sustainable places to live, work and visit

Cruse Bereavement Care

Cruse Bereavement Care exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. The organisation provides counselling and support. It offers information, advice, education and training services

Cynffig Chronicles

The 'Bro Cynffig' Chronicles is a community / school project. Children and young people from every school in the Pyle, Cornelly, Kenfig Hill and Cefn Cribwr area has been drawing upon the support of community groups and local people to help gather the evidence needed to document the areas history.

Eco Schools

The Eco-Schools programme is an international project designed to encourage whole school action for the environment. It is a recognised award scheme and learning resource aiming to make Education for Sustainable Development/Global Citizenship an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of schools

Groundwork

Groundwork in Wales is a leading environmental regeneration charity making sustainable development a reality in communities in need of investment and support.

Keep Wales Tidy

Keep Wales Tidy aims to develop a 'Clean, Safe and Tidy Wales'.

Learning Through Landscapes

Learning through Landscapes is the National School Grounds Charity and the National Programmes team manage a range of initiatives, both national and regional, which work with key groups within school communities. All of these seek to promote and enhance the development, use and value of school grounds in diverse and innovative ways

Menter Bro Ogwr

Menter Iaith Bro Ogwr promotes and supports the use of the Welsh language by working in partnership with societies, organisations, businesses, learners and schools in the county.

Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin

Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin is a voluntary organisation. It aims to give every young child in Wales the opportunity to benefit from early years services and experiences through the medium of Welsh.

Retired Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP)

RSVP is a free standing programme within Community Service Volunteers and it exists to encourage those aged fifty plus to participate in their local area in England, Scotland and Wales

RSPCA Education

RSPCA Education supports teachers to develop informed, responsible and active citizens. This involves training teachers to deliver animal welfare education through their existing schemes of work.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service

Bridgend has seven Fire Stations in Bridgend, Pencoed, Maesteg, Porthcawl, Kenfig Hill, Pontycymer and Ogmore Vale that deliver a range of fire safety talks to KS 1 + 2 children in all Primary schools throughout the borough

Neighbourhood Policing Team

Neighbourhood policing teams usually include police officers, special constables, police community support officers (PCSOs), neighbourhood wardens, volunteers and community groups such as Neighbourhood Watch.

St John Cymru

St John Cymru - Wales co-ordinates the 'Young Life Saver Scheme' which supplies teaching resources for teachers and youth workers to teach first aid to children and young people aged between 7 - 16 years.

Valley and Vale Community Arts

Valley and Vale encourages people to access Community Arts, media workshops and projects in video, animation, dance, drama, forum theatre, photography, visual and digital arts, multi media, music and design

Valleys to Coast

Valleys to Coast has a Community Development Programme which supports individuals and community groups to help regenerate property owned by V2C. Will give preference to 4 pilot areas namely Tudor, Caerau, Marlas estate and the ward of Wildmill
