Building Control
Building regulations are a set of minimum requirements designed to secure the health, safety and welfare of people in and around buildings, fuel and energy conservation and improved access and facilities for disabled people in England and Wales. There is a legal requirement to notify your local authority building control department if you intend to carry out any building work that is covered by the Building Regulations 2000.
The council’s team of dedicated multi-disciplinary construction professionals enforce health and safety standards in and around buildings. The team takes pride in their work and aim to provide a customer-friendly, first-rate service which aims to make it easier to achieve compliance with legislation and national standards of construction.
