Adult Placements are provided by individuals or families in the local community, who share their homes and their family life with people with learning disabilities who require support to live more independent lives.
The Bridgend Adult Placement Scheme is registered with the Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales (CSIW). This means that the scheme has to meet the National Minimum Standards for Adult Placement Schemes.
The scheme currently has 17 carers providing a service to 28 service users with learning disabilities.
What is Adult Placement?
An Adult Placement can be:
|
somewhere to live |
|
somewhere to stay for a short break |
|
somewhere to go for day time support |
|
someone who will support you to live in your own home |
People who offer their home for placements are called Adult Placement Carers. There are lots of different kinds of Adult Placement Carers; some Adult Placement Carers are couples and some are single people; some have children; some provide help and support to more than one person.
