How to find us

Family Link Short Breaks Scheme

Currently, the scheme is looking for people who can offer a few hours a week or fortnight, whether it’s an overnight stay or even a whole weekend, all on a regular basis. Full training is given and an allowance is paid for expenses

There are many children and young people with special needs who are living at home with their families. Many of which, would benefit enormously from a short break away from the family home and environment.

Give a little time .......................... Make a big difference

This scheme allows the child/young person a break from their families. The break can be flexible depending on the needs of the child. It can be for a few hours a week or fortnight, to an overnight stay or even a whole weekend. The short break carers provide these short breaks on a regular basis.

The break gives the child opportunities to widen their horizons, make new friends and enjoy different experiences. For the rest of the family, the break simply allows them to have a rest and perhaps get some shopping done or even go for a walk!

Just a little of your time could make a huge difference to the lives of local children and young people.
