Bridgend Foster Care

Bridgend Foster Care is an experienced local authority fostering team. We concentrate on providing high quality placements for children and young people, whilst they are unable to live with their own families.

Bridgend Foster Care prides itself on placing children with carers who are best matched for their needs, as well as being able to provide a more stable and nurturing environment.

We welcome any enquiries although we are particularly keen to hear from carers who are interested in providing:

Foster care for children aged 10+

Foster care for siblings

Support care – planned overnight (maximum two overnight stays per week) for children within vulnerable families to prevent children coming into care

Fostering is extremely rewarding and fulfilling but making the choice to become a foster carer is a major decision. Hopefully the related links on fostering will help you make your decision.

If you want to give more than just a smile and make a real difference to a child’s life, please contact Bridgend Foster Care on 01656 642349.

Foster Care Fortnight 2012

Bridgend County Borough will once again be supporting the Fostering Network’s Foster Care Fortnight.

Foster Care Fortnight runs from 14 – 27 May and is the UK's biggest annual campaign.

The Fostering Network has revealed that in Wales, a child comes into care every six hours that will need fostering. This shocking figure highlights the challenge facing local authorities who are already struggling with a shortage of foster carers.

Could you help make a difference and change a child’s life?

The fostering team will be at Tesco Extra on Monday 14 and Tuesday 21 May, 10am – 1pm; and Sainsburys on Monday 21 May, 2-5pm. Come and talk to us for an informal chat.

Quote from carer

“Fostering can be a challenge, but it is also incredibly rewarding, and the council’s fostering service provides support and training to carers every step of the way. I’ve been fostering for 10 years and I would recommend it to anyone.”
