Bridgend County Borough Council is actively involved in improving the physical environment of the county borough to deliver real benefits to people who live, visit and work in the area.
The council is involved in a number of key regeneration projects:

The regeneration of Bridgend’s town centre is transforming it into a vibrant town for visitors and residents alike. Read more about the work which has been carried out. Consultation has now concluded on the following documents: Supplementary Planning Guidance for Bridgend Townscape Heritage Initiative and Bridgend Town Centre Masterplan with appendices. It is hoped that these will be formally adopted in the next few months. The guidance is designed to assist developers to understand the Council’s views on future development within Bridgend Town Centre as well as provide information on conservation and heritage improvements. |

A Regeneration Strategy and Action Plan for Pencoed is currently being developed. |

Porthcawl | |
|
Regeneration plans for Porthcawl are set to transform the town into a premier seaside resort. The 7 Bays Project is the first major element of these plans and is set to realise the full potential of Porthcawl’s seafront for residents, visitors and investors. Following consultation between August and September a planning guidance has now been formally adopted for the 7 Bays Project. |

If so, and your property is within a designated boundary, you may qualify for assistance towards improving the building from one of a range of grant schemes offered by Bridgend County Borough Council. |
