Community Safety |
The Community Safety Partnership aims to make Bridgend County Borough a safer place to live, work, visit and invest in. The aim of the partnership is to reduce the overall levels of recorded crime and make individuals and communities to enable them to feel safer and enjoy increased opportunities within their local communities. A wide range of agencies are represented within the Partnership to ensure a balanced approach to the issues of crime reduction, prevention and addressing social inclusion.
Children and Young People |
New legislation by the Welsh Assembly Government requires each local authority area to develop a partnership of agencies to support children and young people aged 0-25 years. The Children and Young People’s Partnership looks at the different ways services can be developed and delivered to children and young people within the borough. This involves working closely with children, young people and their families. The partnership has to produce a framework plan, providing a clear collective vision of priorities to 2008, and a series of action plans showing how services for children, young people and their families can be developed.
Youth Offending Team (YOT) |
The Bridgend Youth Offending Team is a multi-agency team whose aim is to prevent offending by children and young people. Its membership is made up of staff from different agencies from across the borough - Social Services, Education, South Wales Police, National Probation Service South Wales area and Bridgend Local Health Board – which work together with the council to tackle the problems which underpin disaffection and youth crime.
