As a member of Sewta, the transport consortium for South East Wales, the Council has played a key role in developing the Regional Transport Plan for South East Wales.

The system of Regional Transport Plans (RTP) being developed by the local government consortia in Wales will support the Welsh Assembly Government’s Wales Transport Strategy, and its National Transport Plan.

The RTP, and the regional modal strategies that support it, will set out the transport policies and projects for the region. The RTP also contains a 5-year programme of transport schemes which will be located within, or will affect, Bridgend County Borough.

The RTP will take effect in April 2010 and will replace the Local Transport Plan (LTP) which was produced by the Council in 2001, and which provided the framework for the development of local transport policies, projects and initiatives.

To support the aims of the LTP, a range of strategy documents was produced along with a series of Annual Progress Reports (APR) to measure progress towards these aims. The following documents are available for download:
