Adult Social Care
Bridgend County Borough Council provides social care services for people over 18 years, who need support, care or protection including:
People leaving hospital. |
Older people and adults with a physical disability, learning disability or mental health issues. |
People who need support to care for someone else. |
We work in partnership with health service organisations and other community based organisations to provide care services.
Most people with social care needs prefer to stay in their own home and we can help this to happen by providing support which includes:
Personal care |
Supported activities in day centres and other community settings |
Home adaptations or special equipment to help people with an illness or disability with their everyday activities |
Information about Emergency Alarms |
Information about hot meals |
Support for people with visual or hearing difficulties |
Re-ablement and rehabilitation |
Support for vulnerable adults |
We can help with:
Managing your own care |
Support to enable you to access training or employment |
General support, advice and information |
We can also help to arrange residential or nursing home care if this is the better choice than staying at home.
Plus, we also:
Administer the Car Parking Badges for Disabled Persons Scheme. |
Provide support for asylum seekers (referred and financed by the Home Office), refugees and their families. |
We will carry out an assessment of your needs to work out what your needs are, how you can best be helped and if you are eligible for our services. The assessment is free, but if you are eligible for our services you may have to pay a fixed charge. This is called Fairer Charging.
The links on the left-hand side of this page will give you more information about the services we provide.
